Florida airport took Trump’s name as FAA shifted code to DJT
What’s next: Travelers must keep using PBI for bookings until Aug. 18, even as new signs and branding roll out.
Palm Beach International Airport officially became President Donald J. Trump International Airport on Thursday after a Florida law took effect and the Federal Aviation Administration recognized the change. Airport officials said the transition will happen in phases, with highway signs and other public branding already being updated. Travelers will still need to use the code PBI when booking flights and checking bags until Aug. 18, when the airport is set to move to DJT. The airport said the renaming does not change ownership or operations. The move follows legislation signed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in March and has drawn mixed reactions from travelers, as well as two local lawsuits.
