First-day tickets for Aug. 17 ceremony at Istana fill up fast
The portal briefly showed a wait of more than four hours, and registration reopens on 6-7 August.
Registration quota for invitations to the 81st anniversary ceremony of Indonesia’s independence at Istana Merdeka for the first day, Wednesday (5/8), was exhausted about an hour after registration opened at 10.00 WIB. On the Pandang Istana website, the registration status changed to “Penuh,” making the form inaccessible. Earlier, the portal showed a queue with an estimated wait of more than four hours because of heavy simultaneous demand for access. Registration is open for three days, 5-7 August 2026. Applicants are asked to prepare a KTP or KIA, an active email address, an active phone number, and a recent formal selfie holding the identity document. Deputy State Secretary Minister Juri Ardiantoro said the quota will be opened again the following day. The government is preparing about 8.100 invitations in total for the 81st RI anniversary commemoration.
