Fire losses in Desa Adat Sade seen reaching Rp33.84 billion
The blaze affected 320 tourism workers from 189 families, while the government prepares aid from basic supplies to reconstruction.
The government estimates losses from a fire in Desa Adat Sade, Lombok Tengah, Nusa Tenggara Barat, at Rp33.84 billion. Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana said the fire affected 75 homes inside the village and 20 units outside it, as well as 69 art shops owned by local micro, small and medium enterprises. Other damaged facilities included eight rice barns, four Berugak Sekenam, six Berugak Sakepat, one Bale Beleq, one traditional mosque, one public toilet, one gate and one pelonggu. The Ministry of Culture is also still tallying damage to traditional houses and cultural objects. The government is preparing short-term measures including logistics, public kitchens, trauma healing and community empowerment, followed by long-term reconstruction to restore tourism activity.
