Firdaus Daud takes over Kembangan grassroots role from Sept. 1
What's next: The PAP reserve candidate is expected to leave his Punggol post later so he can focus on Kembangan.
Lawyer Ahmad Firdaus Daud will become second grassroots adviser in Kembangan on Sept. 1, stepping into the ward formerly overseen by ex-minister and former MP Faishal Ibrahim. Speaker of Parliament Seah Kian Peng said Firdaus will join the Marine Parade-Braddell Heights GRC team serving Kembangan residents and will also help on Malay/Muslim community matters. Firdaus, 42, had been a reserve candidate for the People’s Action Party in the 2025 general election and already serves as second adviser in Punggol alongside Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong. Seah said Firdaus will initially hold both roles before giving up the Punggol post. Faishal resigned from political office, Parliament and the PAP on July 20 over inappropriate interactions with a woman.
