FIFA limits 2026 World Cup final halftime show to 11 minutes
FIFA dismissed speculation the final break could stretch to 25 minutes, even as the show will feature Madonna, Shakira, BTS and Justin Bieber.
FIFA has confirmed that the first halftime show in a World Cup final will last just 11 minutes at the 2026 tournament. Executive producer Guy Carrington said the length was set to avoid disrupting the championship match at New York New Jersey Stadium in the United States. He said preparations have been underway for months and the production is designed to minimize any impact on the field. Organizers will use a special cover to protect the grass and manage the performers’ costumes, footwear and movements. The show is curated by Chris Martin and is scheduled to include Madonna, Shakira, BTS, Justin Bieber, Burna Boy and Gustavo Dudamel with an orchestra. The decision dispels speculation that the halftime interval could be extended to 25 minutes.
