DHS ties alleged White House UFC attack plot leader to Mexico
What's new: Homeland Security said Abraham Alvarez had DACA protection after overstaying a B2 visa and was arrested in Omaha.
Federal prosecutors accused Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez, 31, of leading a plot to attack the White House's UFC Freedom 250 event on June 14. Homeland Security information obtained by Fox News identified Alvarez as a Mexican national who overstayed a B2 visa and later received Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals relief in 2014. Investigators allege Alvarez organized a plan to use explosive-equipped drones to trigger an evacuation, then deploy snipers into the chaos and mount a second wave at the White House gate. Five co-conspirators have been arrested this month. The FBI arrested Alvarez in Omaha, Nebraska, on the day of the fight, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement lodged a detainer after his arrest.
