Father who abused 5-year-old child in Bandung Barat arrested
The boy’s mother says the abuse may have happened repeatedly; the child is now back with his mother and grandmother.
Police arrested Dayat, alias Cepi, the biological father accused of abusing his 5-year-old child in Kabupaten Bandung Barat, West Java, after video of the violence spread widely on social media. In the recording, the victim appears with blood on his mouth and nose, then is slapped and dragged by the hair until he cries. Cimahi Police Chief Moh Faruk Rozi said the suspect has been secured and is being questioned to determine the motive and gather other testimony. The victim’s mother, Rika, said her child was taken by force when he did not want to return to his father’s home. She also said her former husband was temperamental, had been violent during their marriage, and is suspected of having abused the child several times. The victim is now back with his mother and grandmother.
