Culture Minister Fadli Zon praised the leadership character of Soeharto at an event marking the 105th anniversary of the birth of the former second president of Indonesia in Jakarta on Wednesday. Fadli said Soeharto’s leadership in his era could serve as a source of lessons for future generations in building Indonesia. He pointed to several traits worth noting, including grounding decisions in facts and social realities, valuing science, building an effective work system, taking responsibility, and upholding leadership values. Fadli also stressed the importance of leadership rooted in Indonesian cultural values, such as patience, self-control, firmness of stance, and an orientation toward the national interest.
