Europe joins Abu Dhabi talks on ending Russia’s war in Ukraine
What’s next: Delegations from Ukraine and Russia are due in Abu Dhabi on Nov. 10-11 for talks on peace terms, security and de-escalation.
European officials will take part in talks in Abu Dhabi next week on ending Russia’s war in Ukraine, with France confirming it will join the discussions. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said Europe would be “well represented” and that France would attend, though he did not name its delegate. The meeting is set for Nov. 10-11. US envoy Steve Witkoff said Washington would bring Ukrainian and Russian delegations together to discuss an end to the war, postwar security arrangements and steps to reduce tensions. The talks would place European governments directly in a diplomatic track involving Kyiv, Moscow and the United States.
