ESDM targets B50 at all SPBU by Oct. 1, 2026
Only 57% of SPBU are dispensing B50 so far; the government set a three-month transition to clear B40 inventories.
The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry is targeting nationwide distribution of B50 biodiesel at all SPBU in Indonesia by Oct. 1, 2026. The B50 mandate took effect on July 1, but implementation is being phased in over a three-month transition period so companies can use up B40 stocks and adjust blending processes. EBTKE Director General Eniya Listiani Dewi said a full evaluation will be conducted in December. So far, ESDM says about 57% of SPBU are already distributing B50. The government projects the program will cut greenhouse gas emissions by about 44.46 million tons of CO2 equivalent in 2026, save up to Rp170 trillion in foreign exchange, add value to CPO, and absorb about 2.1 million workers.
