Former deputy manpower minister Noel gets 4.5 years in K3 case

Noel must also pay a Rp200 million fine and Rp3.43 billion in restitution after judges found he took a gratuity and a Ducati Scrambler.

Former Deputy Manpower Minister Immanuel "Noel" Ebenezer Gerungan was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison in a gratuity case tied to the handling of Occupational Safety and Health certificates at the Ministry of Manpower in 2024–2025. The panel of judges at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court, led by Nur Sari Baktiana, found Noel guilty of receiving Rp3.43 billion in gratuities in the form of nontechnical payments for processing K3 certificates and one Ducati Scrambler. In addition to the prison term, the judges imposed a Rp200 million fine, with a subsidiary 90 days in jail, and Rp3.43 billion in restitution, with a subsidiary 1 year in prison. The Rp3 billion already deposited into the KPK escrow account and the BAIC car that has been surrendered were counted toward the restitution payment. The sentence was lighter than prosecutors' demand of 5 years in prison.
