Education budget execution in 2025 reaches only 19.1%
The government aims to lift that share above 20% in 2026 through Sekolah Rakyat, school repairs and an extra Rp25 trillion for LPDP.
Education budget execution in 2025 was recorded at 19.1% of realized state spending, below the constitutional mandate requiring an allocation of at least 20% of the APBN. In a plenary session of the DPR in Jakarta on Tuesday, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said the government still places the education budget at 20% when the APBN is set, but the share can shift as total state spending changes during the year. DPR data showed the 2025 education budget was set at Rp724,26 trillion, with Rp656,64 trillion realized, or about 90,68%. Purbaya targets the 2026 execution share to reach or even exceed 20%, supported by Sekolah Rakyat, integrated schools, school repairs, digital panels for schools, and an additional Rp25 trillion in capital for LPDP.
