Dukcapil issues 3,055 documents for NTT quake victims
Mobile service teams in seven districts are helping evacuees keep access to aid, health care and home recovery support.
The Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration at the Home Affairs Ministry issued 3,055 population documents for residents affected by the Nusa Tenggara Timur earthquake through Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 22.30 WITA. The documents were issued through mobile service teams in seven affected districts so residents who lost or damaged papers could still handle basic needs after the disaster. The magnitude 7.7 quake, centered in Nagekeo Regency on August 15, killed more than 100 people, injured 1,603 and displaced more than 180,000. Dukcapil emergency response teams deployed on August 24 to Manggarai Timur, Nagekeo, Manggarai, Ende, Ngada, Sikka and Manggarai Barat, bringing portable equipment, blank e-KTP forms and satellite internet after offices, power and local networks were damaged.
