Dukcapil deploys mobile services for quake victims in 6 NTT areas

The Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration at the Home Affairs Ministry launched mobile civil registration services for residents affected by the earthquake in Nusa Tenggara Timur from July 24-Aug. 28, 2026. Six teams were deployed to Manggarai, Manggarai Barat, Manggarai Timur, Ngada-Nagekeo, Ende and Sikka to record data and reprint lost or damaged documents. At Paroki Aeramo post in Aesesa district, Nagekeo regency, the service was opened with the local Dukcapil office so evacuees would not have to travel to the office. During the day, staff issued 300 documents, including 108 electronic ID cards, 93 family cards, 49 child identity cards and 26 birth certificates. Dukcapil also brought 6,000 electronic ID card blanks, ribbons and Starlink equipment to speed up the service. The earthquake in Nagekeo was reported to have killed nine people and injured 22 others.
