Prabowo-Gibran Turns Two as Focus Shifts to Impact

The administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka reached its second year on October 20, 2026, with attention shifting from program delivery to its effect on welfare. In the first two years, the government rolled out priority programs such as Makan Bergizi Gratis and Sekolah Rakyat, while claiming progress in food, energy, education, health and industrial downstreaming. But success in the third year cannot stop at the number of projects, budget absorption or the size of the beneficiary pool. The government is being pressed to ensure the programs truly raise economic productivity, household income, job quality and the even distribution of welfare.
