Two men in Tamansari steal friend’s motorbike to pay rent
Police are tracing the buyer of the stolen motorbike, valued at about Rp10 juta, which was briefly sold by the suspects.
Police have arrested two men, identified as S, 38, and H, 40, for stealing a motorbike in Tamansari, West Jakarta. The motorbike belonged to S’s close friend. According to Tamansari Metro Police Chief Kompol Bobby M Zulfikar, S first borrowed the victim’s motorbike. Before returning it, he damaged the lock system with a tool so the vehicle appeared unusable. After the motorbike was returned, H, who had been waiting near the location, took it and rode away. Police said the theft was planned on short notice. The stolen motorbike was worth about Rp10 juta and had been sold. Police are now expanding the case to hunt for the buyer. During questioning, the two suspects admitted they stole the motorbike because of financial pressure, including to cover living expenses and pay rent.
