DPR urges BGN electric motorbike grants not burden teachers
DPR also called for legal clarity on the assets and service support, amid scrutiny over alleged procurement markups.
Deputy Chair of Commission X of DPR Lalu Hadrian Irfani asked that a plan by Badan Gizi Nasional to grant electric motorbikes to contract teachers not turn into a new burden for recipients. He said the idea could serve as a form of appreciation, but the government must first ensure the motorbikes can be used, that service centers are available, and that the administration is free of problems. Lalu also warned that the assets to be granted should not be tied to legal cases currently being investigated by Kejaksaan Agung. Earlier, Deputy Chair of Commission IX DPR Yahya Zaini backed the grant as a way to keep assets already purchased with state funds useful. However, he criticized the procurement of electric motorbikes for SPPG operations as not matching needs, subject to limited DPR oversight, and potentially involving inflated prices.
