DPR member and former trade minister Rachmat Gobel dies at 63
Family said he died at 03.20 WIB at RS Brawijaya Tebet; his body will be buried in Gorontalo.
Rachmat Gobel, a member of the House of Representatives from the NasDem Party faction, died on Friday (10/7) at the age of 63. Family members said he died at 03.20 WIB at RS Brawijaya Tebet, South Jakarta. His body is being laid out at the family home on Jalan Supomo No 55A, South Jakarta, while the burial will take place in Gorontalo, with details to follow. Rachmat was known as a politician and national businessman, the second generation of the Gobel Group family who carried on the legacy of his father, Thayeb Mohammad Gobel. In his political career, he served as Trade Minister during the first term of Joko Widodo's administration in 2014-2019, and in the previous term he was Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
