DPR continues deliberations on Asset Forfeiture Bill, aims for 2026

Komisi III has gathered input from 24 community groups, but formal talks with the government have not yet begun.

DPR said deliberations on the Asset Forfeiture Bill are still under way and denied reports that parliament rejected the measure. At a public hearing at the DPR building in Jakarta on Monday, Komisi III Chairman Habiburokhman said discussions had been running for three legislative sessions and public input continued to be collected. Komisi III member Hinca Pandjaitan said the draft could be completed this year. DPR said at least 24 community groups have been asked for their views, and eight more speakers will be invited during the remaining session. However, CNN Indonesia reported the bill has not yet been formally discussed with the government because the government's problem inventory list and academic paper have not been submitted.
