Doctor Anywhere breach exposed IDs, bank details of Singapore users

What's new: The telemedicine firm said clinical records, passwords and payment card details were not compromised, and users are being notified.

Doctor Anywhere said a malicious cyber incident let an unknown third party access personal data from its systems, exposing information including names, email addresses, identity card and passport numbers, dates of birth, emergency contacts and bank account details. The Singapore telemedicine provider did not disclose how many users were affected, but said it became aware of the breach on Oct. 29 and had security fixes validated by Ensign InfoSecurity by Oct. 30. The company said clinical records were not affected. It reported the incident to the Personal Data Protection Commission and filed a police report. Affected users, including some linked to subsidiary Adept Health's corporate benefits business, are being contacted.
