DKI tests one-stop service for abused women, children

Initial reports are targeted to be handled within 1x24 hours, with integrated health, legal and rehabilitation services.

The central government, Polri, LPSK and the DKI Jakarta provincial government have launched a pilot integrated one-stop service for women and children who are victims of violence in Jakarta. Under a joint decree signed at City Hall on Thursday (4/6), victims — especially victims of sexual violence — only need to go to one location without moving between agencies. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said he targets initial handling of reports to be completed within 1x24 hours and full integration of services to be in place. Women and Child Protection Minister Arifah Fauzi said the new scheme covers complaints, health services, legal aid and ongoing rehabilitation. The Health Ministry is preparing medical, psychological and medicolegal services, including visum et repertum, with support from 31 hospitals and 44 puskesmas in DKI Jakarta.
