Dino Patti denies claim he met Singapore envoy in Perth
Dino called the Instagram post a coordinated smear effort and plans to raise the issue with Menkomdigi Meutya Hafid.
Former Deputy Foreign Minister Dino Patti Djalal denied reports that he visited the home of Singapore Ambassador to Indonesia Kwok Fook Seng in Jakarta on Sunday, October 18. Dino called the Instagram post describing the meeting “100 percent fictitious,” saying he was in Perth, Australia, for three days and only returned to Indonesia on Tuesday night. Dino said he was in Perth as a speaker at an international conference on climate change organized by NSM Global Citizen. He also denied arriving with political analyst Saiful Mujani. Dino said he knows Kwok but has not visited the Singapore Embassy for a long time. He said the post was an attempt to intimidate freedom of speech and described a “tim siluman” spreading fictitious content in an organized way. He plans to report the matter to Menkomdigi Meutya Hafid.
