Digital birth certificates issued on birth day, home births covered
Kemendagri will also issue a circular requiring village heads to report home births and deaths to Dukcapil for faster records.
The government launched a digital birth certificate service linking SATUSEHAT and the Population Administration Information System at Puskesmas Pasar Minggu, Jakarta, on Tuesday (11/8). With the integration, birth data recorded at health facilities can be processed immediately, allowing the birth certificate to be issued the same day and sent to the health facility, WhatsApp, or the parents' email. Home births are also included. Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian is preparing a circular for village heads so babies born outside health facilities are still reported to the local health facility or directly to Dukcapil. The letter will also include reporting of resident deaths from the village level so death certificates can be issued faster and population data kept up to date.
