DHS searched Rep. Ilhan Omar’s home in immigration fraud probe
What’s next: The search came weeks before the midterms, and federal authorities said the warrant is tied to an ongoing investigation.
Federal agents searched the Washington-area home of Rep. Ilhan Omar early Monday as part of a criminal investigation into immigration paperwork completed by her father when she was a child, according to Fox News Digital and a Justice Department statement carried by multiple outlets. Homeland Security Investigations executed a court-authorized warrant secured by the Justice Department, which described the action as part of an ongoing federal investigation. Omar, a Minnesota Democrat born in Somalia, is running for another term in the House less than a month before the November midterm elections. Her office did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
