Dasco brings together Hotman Paris, PWI chief as report nears withdrawal
PWI chief Akhmad Munir said the defamation-style complaint against Hotman at Polda Metro Jaya will be withdrawn soon.
DPR Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad brought together lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea and PWI Pusat Chairman Akhmad Munir in Jakarta on Tuesday (28/7) amid a dispute over allegations of insults against journalists. Dasco posted the meeting on his Instagram account with the caption “Persatuan Indonesia”. Speaking to Antara, Munir said the meeting was held to prioritize national unity after the dispute between Hotman and journalists. He also said PWI would soon withdraw its police report against Hotman. Earlier, PWI reported Hotman to Polda Metro Jaya on allegations of insult, while MIO Indonesia filed a separate report. Hotman had earlier said his remarks at a press conference at the Kejaksaan Agung were directed at an individual, not an organization.
