CPNS 2026 hiring schedule undecided as government weighs fiscal room
Kementerian PANRB is still mapping staffing needs and has not decided whether every vacant post will be filled.
The government has not set a schedule for the 2026 civil servant recruitment drive, or CPNS 2026. Minister of PANRB Rini Widyantini said a decision on whether to open the selection process is still awaiting calculations of staffing needs and the state’s fiscal capacity with the Ministry of Finance. She said Kementerian PANRB is now mapping personnel needs in ministries, agencies and local governments, including the job competencies required. The results will be matched with President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programs and budget availability. Rini also said the government has not confirmed that all vacant posts, including those left by retiring employees, will be filled through new recruitment. Needs still being calculated include teachers, forestry supervisors and other technical positions.
