Citra, Pangkep schoolgirl, featured by Prabowo in MPR session
She nearly dropped out after her father died, then returned to school and won second place in karate at Pangkep regency level.
Citra Nur Ramadhani, a student at Sekolah Rakyat Terintegrasi 67 Pangkajene dan Kepulauan, South Sulawesi, was among the students introduced by President Prabowo Subianto at the Annual Session of the MPR RI and the Joint Session of the DPR RI-DPD RI at Nusantara II Building, Jakarta, on Friday (14/8). Prabowo highlighted Citra's story: she nearly dropped out of school after helping her mother sell peanuts following her father's death when she was in grade 2 of elementary school. Before entering the school, Citra went around selling peanuts at city parks and gas stations in Pangkep and could earn about Rp200 thousand a day. After being accepted at Sekolah Rakyat, she returned to studying and developed her karate talent. According to guardian Maysaroh Abdi Gobel, Citra later won second place in karate at the Pangkep regency level.
