Cisem II opens, Pertagas ready to boost West Java gas supply
The new link can move surplus gas from Jawa Timur to Jawa Barat when local supply weakens, easing shortfalls for industry.
Pertamina Gas is preparing additional gas deliveries for industry in Jawa Barat after the national transmission pipeline network, including Cirebon-Semarang or Cisem, is connected. At the Tegalgede Gas Compressor Station in Cikarang Selatan, Jawa Barat, the pipeline operator said the integration opens flows from surplus regions to demand centers, including from Jawa Timur to Jawa Barat and Banten. Tegalgede District Head Fari Akhdiar Rachmad said the Cisem II link could help cover supply gaps that have at times pressured industrial demand. Pertamina Gas Corporate Secretary Sulthani Adil Mangatur added that SKG Tegalgede has four compressors with a capacity of about 70-75 MMSCFD per unit, giving total flow capacity of about 280-300 MMSCFD and pipeline capacity of 350 MMSCFD.
