Chelsea sign Valentin Barco from Strasbourg on 7-year deal
What's new: The Argentina international is Chelsea's sixth summer signing, and the transfer fee was not disclosed.
Chelsea signed Argentina international Valentin Barco from Strasbourg on a seven-year contract, adding another player to the club's summer rebuild. The 21-year-old joins after a spell in France that began with a loan from Brighton and later became a permanent move. Chelsea did not disclose the fee. Barco came through Boca Juniors' academy and moved to Brighton in 2024 for about 7.9 million pounds before heading to Strasbourg. He becomes the second player this summer to move from Strasbourg to Chelsea, with both clubs owned by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital. BBC Sport said it was the 13th deal between the clubs since the start of last season.
