Chelsea rallies past Crystal Palace 3-1 to move atop WSL table
What's new: Melvine Malard scored twice after halftime and Sandy Baltimore added a late penalty as Chelsea avoided its first loss to Palace.
Chelsea came from behind to beat Crystal Palace 3-1 at the 360 Engage Stadium, with second-half changes turning the Women’s Super League match. Palace took a surprise lead in the 20th minute when Molly Bartrip scored from a corner, the club’s first goal against Chelsea in eight meetings. Chelsea leveled just after halftime through Melvine Malard’s long-range strike, then went ahead in the 75th when Malard headed in after a run and cross from substitute Sandy Baltimore. Baltimore sealed the win with a late penalty. The result lifted Chelsea temporarily to the top of the WSL table ahead of Manchester City’s trip to Manchester United.
