Changan tests Deepal S05 Jakarta-Linggarjati route, highlights efficiency
BEV and REEV trims were tested on toll roads, city streets and mountain routes to gauge energy use and cabin comfort.
Changan Indonesia completed a media test drive of the Deepal S05 BEV and Deepal S05 REEV on the Jakarta-Sukabumi-Bandung route before continuing to Linggarjati, Cirebon and back to Jakarta on 7-10 Juli 2026. The hundreds-of-kilometers road test was used to measure the performance, efficiency and driving feel of the two electrified SUV variants across different road conditions. Participants passed through urban traffic, toll roads, mountain routes, descents, bends and narrow, congested stretches. ANTARA said the vehicle's driving character remained stable and consistent, while Republika noted that the 360 camera helped maneuvering on narrow roads. In the REEV variant, the vehicle is still driven by an electric motor, while the gasoline engine functions as a generator when the battery needs charging.
