Bus driver charged after Virginia I-95 crash killed 5 people

Virginia charged a bus driver after a high-speed crash on Interstate 95 in Stafford County killed five people and injured dozens.

Virginia State Police charged bus driver Jing S. Dong with two counts of involuntary manslaughter after investigators said his motorcoach failed to slow for traffic near a work zone on Interstate 95 in Stafford County, triggering a chain-reaction crash that killed five people. The victims included Dmitri and Ecaterina Doncev and their children, Emily and Mark, of Greenfield, Massachusetts, as well as Priscilla Mafalda, 25, of Worcester, Massachusetts. About 44 people were taken to hospitals after the Friday crash. Prosecutor Eric Olsen said evidence indicated the bus was traveling at a high rate of speed. The National Transportation Safety Board is conducting a separate safety investigation.
