Burnham visits Kyiv, clears path for Ukraine to build SCALP missiles

What's new: Britain will let MBDA release classified component data, opening the way for French-Ukrainian local production.

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham arrived in Kyiv on Monday for his first foreign trip in office and moved to deepen military support for Ukraine. Burnham is set to meet President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, join Independence Day events and co-chair a meeting of the coalition of the willing with other European leaders. His government agreed to let defense company MBDA release classified information on British parts used in the SCALP long-range missile, a step intended to help France and Ukraine pursue production in Ukraine. The visit comes as Russian strikes have intensified in recent weeks and as Kyiv presses allies for more air-defense missiles, including Patriots.
