Bulog speeds rice distribution, 5.3 million tons on hand
By June 6, food aid rice had reached nearly 60% of 33.2 million targets, while SPHP sales also expanded nationwide.
Perum Bulog is accelerating distribution of rice under the Food Supply and Price Stabilization (SPHP) program and food aid to contain rice price increases in various regions. By early June 2026, Bulog-controlled rice stocks had reached about 5.3 million tons and were being prepared for SPHP, food aid and other stabilization measures. As of June 6, food aid rice had been distributed to nearly 60% of the target, or about 20 million recipients out of 33.2 million people, with an allocation of 20 kilograms per recipient for February-March 2026. Bulog has also distributed 315,000 tons of SPHP rice through traditional markets, food kiosks, Gerakan Pangan Murah and the official retail network. In Sumatera Utara, SPHP realization reached 16,187 tons, or about 33% of the 49,043-ton target through December.
