Bulog maintains quality of 4.6 million tons of rice, with 2 million tons of storage room left

The rice sits in warehouses with 6.7 million tons of capacity, leaving room for harvest intake and a buffer for Christmas 2026 and New Year 2027.

Perum Bulog is maintaining the quality of 4.6 million tons of government rice reserves stored in its warehouse network across Indonesia toward the end of the year. The company said the stock is ready to be used to stabilize supply and prices, provide food aid and meet emergency disaster needs. Bulog President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani said the rice is stored in warehouses with total capacity of 6.7 million tons, with occupancy at about 70 percent. That means there is still about 2 million tons of storage space available to absorb farmers' harvests. The capacity consists of 3.2 million tons of operational warehouses and 3.5 million tons of leased or filial warehouses. Bulog carries out regular physical inspections of rice, monitors warehouse cleanliness, humidity and pest risks, and organizes inventory administration so stock data remain accurate. According to a management report as of Oct. 29, 2026, Bulog's total rice stock reached 4.585.074 tons, including 4.560.508 tons of CBP.
