Bullying case at SMPN 1 Blora ends in peace, report dropped
School approved 16 CCTV cameras as KPAI said the repeat case at the same school needs a review of oversight.
The alleged bullying of a ninth-grade student at SMP Negeri 1 Blora, Jawa Tengah, ended in an out-of-court settlement after the victim, identified by the initials APW, chose to withdraw the report to Polres Blora. The victim's lawyer, Adhi Aprianto, said the decision came from the victim alone so he could continue school and resume friendship with students suspected of being involved. Under the agreement, the students suspected of involvement will undergo counseling in the form of Dhuha prayers for 40 days and community service cleaning bathrooms outside class hours. The school also agreed to add 16 CCTV cameras and increase monitoring in the bathroom area. Separately, KPAI said the alleged bullying, which was reported to have happened again at the same school in less than a year, should be a serious evaluation of supervision and the enforcement of a safe-school culture.
