BRIN develops local rubber shoes priced at Rp75,000 for Sekolah Rakyat

BRIN is developing locally made rubber shoes starting at about Rp75,000 to support the needs of Sekolah Rakyat students. BRIN head Arif Satria displayed the product when he met President Prabowo Subianto at the Jakarta Presidential Palace complex on Thursday, in an event that brought together more than 150 BRIN researchers with the president. According to Arif, the shoes were developed in Serpong and use rubber materials throughout, allowing prices to remain affordable, with some models selling in the Rp75,000 range and others above Rp100,000. BRIN is now seeking industrial partners so the innovation can be produced in larger quantities and reach a broader public.
