Brian Yuliarto urges campuses to build lab-based research culture
Kemdiktisaintek is preparing a mentorship system so stronger campuses can guide others through collaborative networks.
Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto is pushing higher education reform supported by stronger quality, more even capacity across campuses, and a robust culture of research and science. In Jakarta on Wednesday, Brian said laboratories play a central role in building a productive science and research culture, backed by lecturers and professors who shape the academic atmosphere. Kemdiktisaintek is also developing a mentorship system, with more advanced universities serving as mentors for other campuses, while building intercampus networks to speed inclusive and sustainable quality improvement. Through the Diktisaintek Berdampak vision, the ministry is directing higher education, science, and technology toward eight priority sectors, including food, health, energy, maritime, defense, digitalization and artificial intelligence, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, as well as downstreaming and industrialization.
