BRI channels SAL liquidity into MSME and real-sector loans

By the end of the first quarter of 2026, BRI's loans reached Rp1.562 trillion, including Rp1.211 trillion to MSMEs.

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk said it supports the Finance Ministry's move to optimize state cash management through the placement of Saldo Anggaran Lebih (SAL) funds. BRI said the instrument helps maintain banking liquidity so the intermediation function can operate more strongly while still emphasizing prudence. President Director Hery Gunardi said the added liquidity will be used to strengthen the disbursement of quality loans, especially to the real sector and MSMEs. According to BRI, wider financing room is important to meet business needs without compromising asset quality and risk management. By the end of the first quarter of 2026, BRI had extended Rp1.562 trillion in loans, with Rp1.211 trillion of that going to MSMEs.
