BPIP denies discrimination in South Sulawesi Paskibraka selection
BPIP said the 2026 national Paskibraka selection in South Sulawesi followed the rules and rejected discrimination claims over a Makassar student’s removal.
BPIP denied any discrimination in the 2026 national Paskibraka selection in South Sulawesi after a dispute over the removal of Makassar student Cathlyn Yvaeni Lesmana. BPIP Deputy Head Rima Agristina said the agency monitored the selection process and sent a team to ensure it was handled in line with regulations. Fuad Lutfi, director of Paskibraka program operations at BPIP Pusat, also said all stages were conducted professionally and objectively. He said participants were assessed against national criteria, including health, fitness, PBB, personality, national insight, mental readiness and discipline. BPIP also stressed that the issue of using a local language during interviews was not a deciding factor in qualification. The controversy emerged after Cathlyn, who was said to have placed among the top three candidates for the national South Sulawesi slot, was replaced by another participant from Gowa.
