BNN detains 10 WNI from Bangkok after positive tests at Soetta

Of 14 passengers checked, 10 were sent to outpatient rehab and reporting requirements; one suitcase held 22 grams of suspected ketamine powder.

BNN detained 10 Indonesian citizens returning from Bangkok, Thailand, after initial urine tests at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport international terminal showed positive results for narcotics and addictive substances. Operation Sekuens “Sapu Bersih Narkotika” was carried out on Monday, 8 June 2026, as an outgrowth of the case of two Russian citizens, KK and SK, who were previously arrested with 7,8 kilograms of hashish that was believed to have come from Thailand. Of 14 WNI passengers checked at about 21.00 WIB, 10 identified by the initials M.M, FR, GAS, MA, ASM, DP, HP, MI, AN, and RA tested positive for methamphetamine, THC, amphetamine, cocaine and other substances. In HP’s suitcase, officers also found 22 grams of powder suspected to be ketamine, which is still being tested in a laboratory. After assessment, BNN classified them as minor users or experimental users, then released them on Wednesday morning to undergo outpatient rehabilitation at the IPWL BNN RI Cawang Clinic and comply with mandatory reporting.
