BNI and BI hold anti-cybercrime education at wondrX 2026

BNI together with Bank Indonesia held a consumer protection and financial literacy talkshow at wondrX 2026 at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Banten. The session, titled “Strengthening Customer Protection Against Cybercrime in the Transformation Era,” urged visitors, including students, to watch for digital fraud as transactions increasingly move to electronic channels. One Yusril Fikar, deputy director at BI’s Department of Payment System Surveillance and Consumer Protection, said the convenience of QRIS and BI-FAST transactions has been accompanied by new cybercrime tactics. He said perpetrators often use social engineering to steal personal data or banking access. BNI and BI reminded the public to keep account information confidential, not to easily trust anyone claiming to represent a bank, and to recheck suspicious messages, links and transaction requests.
