Blueray chief John Field faces 3 years in Customs bribe case
KPK prosecutors also seek 2.5 years each for two Blueray staff as alleged bribes and gratuities total Rp63.15 billion.
Blueray Cargo owner John Field was charged with 3 years in prison and a Rp300 million fine, with a 100-day jail term in default, in an alleged bribery case involving officials at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise. KPK prosecutors read the charges at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court on Monday (22/6). Two other defendants, Dedy Kurniawan Sukolo, the port custom clearance operations manager, and Andri, the head of the import documentation team, were each charged with 2 years 6 months in prison and a Rp200 million fine, with an 80-day jail term in default. In the indictment, the three were accused of giving Rp61.3 billion in bribes and Rp1.85 billion in gratuities so Blueray Cargo Group's imported goods would clear customs supervision faster. Those identified as recipients in the case include Rizal, Orlando Hamonangan, Sisprian Subiaksono, Fillar Marindra, and Enov Puji.
