BKPM accelerates integrated bioethanol plant project in Lampung
Lampung, PNRE, TMMIN and Toyota Tsusho sign a joint declaration covering supply chains, production facilities and farmer partnerships.
The Investment and Downstreaming Ministry/BKPM is speeding development of an integrated bioethanol plant in Lampung to advance plantation downstreaming and strengthen energy security. During a coordination meeting and field visit on Tuesday (9/6), Deputy Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Deputy Head of BKPM Todotua Pasaribu inspected sites in Tegineneng District, Pesawaran Regency, and Rejosari Village, Lampung Selatan Regency. At the event, the Lampung provincial government, PT Pertamina New and Renewable Energy, PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia, and PT Toyota Tsusho Indonesia signed a Joint Declaration to develop a bioethanol ecosystem. BKPM chose Lampung because it has strong feedstock from sugarcane molasses, sorghum and biomass waste, as well as a logistics position that can supply Sumatera and part of Java.
