Bio-TCV, Indonesia-made typhoid conjugate vaccine, enters production
BPOM says 208,235 doses have been produced and 30,875 distributed as of July 13, 2026.
Bio-TCV, a domestically produced typhoid conjugate vaccine developed through collaboration between Universitas Indonesia and Bio Farma, has started production to strengthen the national vaccine supply. BPOM said the vaccine secured its marketing authorization number in 2023 and is now being monitored from production and cold-chain distribution to pharmacovigilance. BPOM data for the period January 2025 to July 2026 recorded production of 84,719 vials in two batches. Bio Farma data as of July 13, 2026 showed total production equivalent to 208,235 doses, with 30,875 doses already distributed. The vaccine is intended for active immunization against typhoid fever caused by Salmonella typhi and can be given from six months of age to adults. BPOM processed its registration through a special pathway for new drug development with a 100-working-day target.
