Bima Arya trains IPDN Papua cadets on ideology and tactics

At the Jayapura briefing, Bima Arya stressed that leaders must go into the field, not rely on desk-bound decisions.

Deputy Home Affairs Minister Bima Arya Sugiarto briefed cadets from the Papua Institute of Government Administration in Jayapura on Monday (22/6) during a Bedah Buku Babad Alas event. He outlined three foundations he said must be owned by future regional leaders and bureaucrats: ideology, strategy and tactics. Bima said ideology serves as the compass for policy, strategy turns values into programs, and tactics determine how they are carried out in the field. He warned the cadets not to be easily bought by transactional interests. Bima also stressed that leaders must understand residents' problems firsthand. He cited his tenure as mayor of Bogor, when PAD rose from Rp544 miliar in 2014 to Rp1,458 triliun in 2024, along with the revitalization of 15 hectares of city parks and the construction of 30 kilometers of pedestrian lanes.
