Jakarta MRT Phase 2A costs Rp25,3 trillion, 62,68% done

The northbound Bundaran HI-Kota tunnel is now linked, with the first segment targeted for completion by late 2027.

PT MRT Jakarta said construction costs for Phase 2A of the North-South line from Bundaran HI to Kota have reached Rp25,3 trillion, financed through loans under cooperation between the Indonesian and Japanese governments. The roughly 5,8-kilometer route includes seven underground stations: Thamrin, Monas, Harmoni, Sawah Besar, Mangga Besar, Glodok, and Kota. As of 25 July 2026, overall project progress stood at 62,68 percent, above the 61,92 percent target. Package CP201 was 93,90 percent complete, CP202 reached 68,00 percent, and CP203 was 86,85 percent. MRT Jakarta also recorded that tunnel boring machine 1 had broken through the south side of Mangga Besar Station, linking the northbound tunnel from Bundaran HI to Kota. The Bundaran HI-Harmoni segment is targeted for completion in late 2027, while Harmoni-Kota is due in late 2029.
