BGN tests MBG plan in conflict areas with TNI-Polri support

The government also aims to update 63 million MBG recipients and fix more than 13,000 priority service points within a month.

The National Nutrition Agency is preparing a special scheme to keep the Free Nutritious Meals Program reaching children in conflict-prone areas. BGN head Sudaryono said trials have already been carried out in several regions with support from TNI and Polri, including using church facilities for distribution. The scheme is being prepared so children in conflict zones and remote areas can continue to get proper nutrition access. In a cross-ministerial meeting in Jakarta, the government also targeted improvements at more than 13,000 MBG service points. According to Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, priority areas such as Papua Pegunungan and Nusa Tenggara Timur are targeted for completion within one month, while reviews of other points in Java and Sumatera could take up to two months. The updating of data on 63 million recipients is also targeted for completion in one month.
