BGN prepares 1,700 MBG kitchens in high-stunting areas
Some SPPG units are targeted to begin operating in the second week of August, while areas without kitchens will get new facilities.
The National Nutrition Agency is preparing 1,700 Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi in areas with high and very high stunting rates to support the Makan Bergizi Gratis program. BGN head Sudaryono said the kitchens are ready and will be put into service gradually, with the first target set for the second week of August. Site selection uses matched data from BGN and the Health Ministry, including family data by name and address. If a priority area does not yet have a kitchen, BGN will build a new facility. Sudaryono said areas that are remote and in greatest need include Papua, Nusa Tenggara Timur, Nias in Sumatra Utara, and the islands in Maluku Utara and Maluku.
