BGN halts MBG during school break, audits SPPG
Meal-provider kitchens in the program will face a full inspection as field operations are reorganized and governance tightened.
The National Nutrition Agency has temporarily suspended distribution of the Makan Bergizi Gratis program during the school holiday period. The decision was announced during a hearing with Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives at the Senayan parliamentary complex on Monday, while the agency reorganizes implementation in the field. In addition to the temporary suspension, BGN is also preparing a comprehensive audit of the kitchens, or Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi, that have been carrying out MBG. The move is described as an effort to overhaul and tidy up the governance system so the program can resume with a more orderly mechanism after the holiday ends.
